Last month I discussed my arrival to the next level. In doing so, I began designing the next level. It’s a delicious never-ending process. I realized that in addition to upgrading my business and my body, I had to bring the rest of my Self along too. I said this back on LiberatedBitches.com:
You minus your body equals your Self.
The Self is directly influenced by the other “stuff” such as how we treat our body. How we treat our body is directly impacted by our resources, environment, and thought processes–both conscious and subconscious. As you can see, you can’t tend more to one and not the other and expect harmony. It has to be a concerted effort.
I walked into the next level with an upgraded physical Self. I was running, stretching, and moving more. I was eating better and drinking more water. I prioritized relaxing and all of that good stuff. My relationship with the mister and the kids was all good. I even got my finances back on track.
But I was leaving my spiritual life hanging. I was still praying the same way. Asking for the same stuff. Showing gratitude for the same stuff. I was still addressing a “back there” God even though I was “up here.” One particular lightbulb for me was Steve Harvey. He stirred something in me when he said:
“Stop going to God with the small stuff.”
As I previously stated, elevation is a never-ending process. So what is small stuff now was some major shit back then. But I’m here now. So it’s time to act like it. It’s time to pray like it. It’s time to start making some “up here” requests. It’s time to start to thanking God for what life is looking and feeling like up here.
Additionally, I noticed that it was time to upgrade my meditation rhythms. Remember: Praying is our way of talking to God. Meditating is our way of listening. Consider this example. Now that I’m grown, rarely (if ever) do my parents or mentors call me to randomly give me advice. However, when I request information, then I get it. I have to Google, text, e-mail, or verbalize the question to get the answer.
Meditation works the same way. I had to begin setting intentions. I arrange my stones, light my candle, relax, and request. Last night, for example, I asked for my mind to be eased, my anxieties to be freed, and my body to be relaxed. I stubbed it down to three words for my mantra. “Eased, freed, and relaxed.” It worked!
That’s what I needed last night. One day last week, I was PMS’ing. I felt bloated, greasy, and everything but cute. My lower back ached and my feet and ankles were a little sore from running. For this, I had to go beyond my usual Transcendental Meditation. I practiced Kundalini instead. It worked! It also worked when I wanted to send healing to a loved one.
Don’t be afraid to try something different. Don’t neglect to leave a part of your Self behind when you’re looking to make changes and go forward. Every part counts. That’s what I’m learning and the results are being manifested. Here’s another juicy change that I’m making. Wanna join?
