The two types of clients I serve

One of them is a speaker. Though I serve both men and women, for the sake of simplicity, I’ll use “she” in this article because the bulk of my clients are women. She’s either a motivational speaker, a coach, a teacher, or a leader of some type. She’s a businesswoman.

She gets things done and is all about efficiency. Hashtags like #GoGetter and #Ambitious and #NoExcuses describe her perfectly. She’s definitely an entrepreneur, whether full-time or part-time, and knows exactly what she wants out of life. Right now, she wants a book. Most of these clients don’t identify as writers. However, a few do.

She guided me through the process of creating my Call-to-Copy program because she’s an EXCELLENT speaker. In fact, she will kind of talk to your head off (lol), but she knows what she’s talking about and she’s real! Traditional coaching didn’t work with her. Not because she wasn’t competent, but that it wasn’t her style.

She still wanted a book that was in her words and of her style, yeah, but when it came to writing it herself, she was like, “Ain’t nobody got time fa dat!” So I decided it best that we work with both of our talents. We talk! Afterwards, I go back and type out the conversation and rearrange it in an order that makes sense. After three recorded phone calls, I email the completed manuscript to her. The other client almost always has a day job. This is her first book, but she doesn’t mind writing it herself. In fact she wants to. Back in the day, she used to do a hell of a lot of writing. She reminds me a lot of myself (both clients actually). Maybe she used to write poetry, then she decided to start a book, but never got around to finishing it because life happened.

Now she’s ready to pick up where she left off–either with that book on the backburner or with another one from scratch. Her main issue is time and organization of thought. She most likely has kids and probably a spouse too. Along with the jobs and chores and other things that need be done, her time is short. But she’s still committed to finishing this book. However, whenever she goes to sit down and write, she strugglse to get her thoughts together.

So I created my book coaching program for her. Because her to-do list is pretty full, I don’t recommend rushing the process. I suggest prioritizing consistency. That’s why the book coaching program is 12 weeks long. Sometimes she need that much time; other times she don’t. During that time, we identify topics that she wants to cover in the book, we arrange those topics, make briefs notes on them to get our brain going, and then go back and expound on those topics. Once we’ve finished the first all the chapters, we go back and polish it together.

She determines her own writing schedule. I just hold her accountable for it. We don’t talk on the phone every day. I just make myself available to her once a week for that phone call. Because email and text is so much easier, I’m available that way every day. This program has proven very effective for this client, and we usually end up growing fairly close in these 12 weeks.

As of yesterday, I have two openings: one for a Call-to-Copy client and another for a book coaching client. If either of these services speak to you, then act on it. Let’s write your story. I’m offering a temporary discount of $100 off of each service. That’s $699 for Call-to-Copy and $849 for Book Coaching. We can break it down into as many as eight payments.
