Why I Joined the #BlogSmallBiz Challenge

I loved the concept of the challenge. It provided an opportunity to get back into the habit of blogging on a regular basis, it was a challenge, and it designed for entrepreneurs/small businesses.

I knew that I wouldn’t blog every day. And my goal was simple. I wouldn’t quit. Regardless of how far behind I got, I would simply catch up. Because my goal was achievable and realistic, I’m right on track. It’s actually what I’m doing right this second; I’m adding a new post which is technically about five days behind schedule, but I’m doing it.

While my goals have not changed, I do love the approach that I took toward this challenge. Oftentimes, that’s where I seem to go wrong with challenges (whether related to writing, fitness, dieting, etc.). I’m sure I’m not the only one with that one. If I’m too far behind or I’ve fallen off track, then I’ll just throw the towel in and wait for the next go round. That’s exactly why I’m not a big fan of New Year’s Resolutions.

I encourage you to take the same approach. When diving into a challenge, your overall goal should simply be to not give up. Even if everyone else in the challenge is done, keep going yourself. It works. It also motivates you to stay on track the next time a challenge comes around.
