How’d you evolve this summer? Let’s write about it.

Remember the “What Did You Do This Summer” essays that we’d do in school?

I used to love that! Sitting there in my all new err’thang, writing about how fabulous my summer was. Because I’ve always been a storyteller, I’d always throw some extra cayenne on top of what really happened.

Summer reflections can still serve us very well. No worries this go round because nobody is judging your spelling or grammar and checking behind you. And unlike then, you ain’t read it in front of the class. So you can talk about what really happened. How were you hurt? How were you blessed? How were you healed? How is still affecting you?

Let’s write about it!

The changing of seasons have always stood out to me. I remember walking to the bus stop as a child and realizing how dark or light it was compared to the week before. How crunchy and colorful the leaves were. How crisp the wind was. And how my grandmother was right about it raining into the next season.

Don’t know about where you live, but here in Savannah, it’s been raining pretty much everyday for the past week or two. Sure enough, there was no rain yesterday or today but we were met with a hell of a chill upon waking. Now grown, I like to take the time between the seasons changing to self-reflect.

A season lasts three months and a lot goes on in that little bit of time. Whether it’s something that you’re already grateful for or something that you’re still feeling through, taking the time to sort through it is empowering. You come out of the practice realizing how much you’ve learned and grown in such a short amount of time. You even pick up on things you didn’t notice while in the midst of it.

My marriage and my health have been at the forefront, and I’ve learned a lot about myself through them in these past few months. I had so much to say about them that I realized that I could actually write a book about it. If you’re not familiar with Amazon shortreads, check ’em out. People are searching for books that take them less than 30 minutes to read and if your book falls into that category, then it’s considered a shortread. Doesn’t take long to write, but it makes you money as long as it’s on the market.

I’m going to help you do that. For free!

You can focus on a specific part of your summer experiences (business, self-care, relationships, etc). Everything about your summer or some other specific part of your life (not just this summer). Once you sign up, I’ll send you four prompts to get started. If you’re following me on Instagram (@Trelani_Michelle), they’re the same prompts that I shared over the weekend.

Later this week, I’ll give the next step. And because every single one of my clients prefer their instruction to be given in steps, I’ll assume the same for you. I’ll give you a few days to complete the first four steps, then I’ll send you the remaining steps later this week.

You can turn your answers into a blog post for your website or an actual e-book to giveaway or sale. Your choice. You in?
