We usually have enough sense to set aside a day or two for ourselves, but how often do we know what to do during those moments? How many times have you found yourself feeling unproductive? Or, what about waking up the next morning regretting all the money you spent?
Me-time doesn’t have to consist of fine dining, island excursions, spa visits, or any of that. You don’t need a lover, a friend, or a dollar to spend. While I’m sure that there are a billion and three activities things you can do to make this happen, here are 25 tried-and-true ways to love yourself free of charge:
- Breathe deeply
- Paint your toes
- Deliberately choose your outfit of the day
- Sit to eat with no timer
- Take a nap
- Go for a walk
- Meditate
- Create (or update) a vision board
- Read a book
- Start writing a book
- Journal
- Masturbate
- Stretch…slowly
- Draft an I-Am list
- Stand nude before the mirror and genuinely thank every single one of your body parts
- Take a ridiculously long bath or shower
- Lie on the floor on your back, bring your knees to your chest, and rock from side to side
- Write love letters to your Inner Little Girl, Old Woman Self, and Sacred In Between
- Experiment with makeup techniques
- Try a new hairstyle
- Dance!
- Allow yourself to dream on paper with no limits (as impractical and foolish as it might feel)
- Watch your favorite movie(s)
- Mail someone a handwritten thank-you note
- Catch up on some of your favorite blogs

Do some living room cardio, yoga, meditation, turn on the music channel and sing loud! Wind them hips like your life depended on it and whip out that self-care list. […]
